A leading research institute in Prague, Czechia named after Nobel laureate in Chemistry, J. Heyrovský, is seeking a motivated PhD student to join the Department of Biophysical Chemistry.

Job status: Part-time

Starting date: 1 November 2026

The successful candidate will participate in research focused on quantum chemical and molecular dynamics calculations of organometallic systems in solvent media. The work will involve the analysis of solvent distribution functions and the application of computational chemistry methods.

Main responsibilities

Performing quantum chemical and molecular dynamics calculations of organometallic systems in solvent media.
Analysis of solvent distribution functions.

Required qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
Essential skills in computational chemistry.
Experience with quantum chemical and molecular dynamics calculations.
Knowledge of quantum chemistry software, such as ORCA, Q-Chem and TeraChem, and molecular dynamics software, such as GROMACS.
Excellent command of Czech (spoken and written).
