John Anthony Pople was born in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, on
October 31, 1925. His father an owner of men's clothing
shop in the same town, whereas mother came from a farmer family, but she was a
tutor to rich children and during First World War she was a librarian.
There was a good school in Burnham, however due to the complex
English class system, J.A. Pople could not attend this school. That is why his
parents decided to send him to Bristol Grammer School at 1936.
He started to study mathematic in his twelve and he was fascinated by it.
As he told in his autobiography during the education he especially introduced some errors to his exercises work to avoid giving an impresion of beeing too briliant, rest of his notes outside mathematic and science were poor. Suddenly a new senior mathematic teacher, discoverd his potential in mathematic. By the rest of his school
education he was prepared to study mathematic at Cambridge University. He the exams
at Trinty College (1942) and entered Cambridge University at (1943).
As a student of mathematic he might complete his studies and he did not have
to join the Royal Army. After the end of the war, he was forced to leave the
University, he took a job in Bristol Aeroplane Company. In those days people
couldn't change their jobs, so he spent 2 years appealing for a
permison to take up his studies. At this time his interest in pure mathematic
weaked and he finally decided to start his career in mathematical science. The first
year he spent on mathematics, but he participated in lectures in
theoretical science, especialy cosmology, fluid dynamics, quantum mechanics
(lectures were given by Nobel laureate Dirac) and statistical mechanics.
In 1948 he started his career in theoretical chemistry. For next 3 years he was
a reserch student, then he was a research fellow at Trinity College for 3 years.
Finnaly he was given lectures at Mathematics Faculty from 1954 to 1958
At that time a general idea of mathematical modeling of chemistry was developed.
In 1953 he met Bob Parr, the discusions and work of Pople, Pariser and Parr, had lead to PPP theory. The theory was suitable to systems with only one significant electron per atom.
In 1956 - 1957 he was working on theoretical background of NMR.
In 1958 he was dissatisfied with mathematic teaching position, so he spent 1961 as sabbatical year in Pittsburgh. He returned to England, however he moved to USA
in 1964. He worked in Carnegie Mellon University in Pitsburgh, and it was a main place
of his work for rest of his career.
He maried Joy Bowers in 1952. He had daughter Hilary and sons Mark Adrian and Andrew. He died in Chicago of liver cancer in 2004.

     		Prises and Honours:
1 Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1998.
2 Fellowship of Royal Society 1961.
3 Knight Commander of the Order of Brithish Empire 2003.

	     Major scientific contributions:
1 Semi-empirical methods - PPP method, CNDO and INDO methods
2 Ab initio electronic structure theory, he was coauthor of first version of
Gaussian Programs and a foundater of Q-Chem program.

I have started studying programming by myself in 2005. That project commisioned by Dr.
Herman was a perfect possibility, as I see now, to learn most vital in programming,
calmness, precision and determinaton. From the other side I am satisfied that
Finis Operis is finnaly matched, and the program is available for the other people.
